Learn what actions were taken in the closing months of the first session of the 119th Congress, including updates on the Farm Bill, USDA commodity purchases, and funding for nutrition programs. We’ll also look ahead to how the second session of the119th Congress and further Administration actions may impact agricultural policy, commodity distribution, and support programs in the year ahead.

Eric has more than 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C. He served as Senior Professional Staff at the Senate Ag Committee for 3 Chairmen where he helped produce the Child Nutrition & WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 and two Farm Bills. Eric served as USDA FNS Associate Administrator for Special Nutrition Programs and FNS Chief of Staff for President George W. Bush. He worked in government affairs at Kraft Foods, Elanco Animal Health, and the National Association of Wheat Growers. Eric earned a B.S. in Agricultural Education from Purdue University, a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, and a Certificate of Management Excellence from the Harvard Business School.
Roger Szemraj, Principal, OFW Law
Roger has more than 30 years of experience on Capitol Hill, concentrating on agriculture including: agricultural appropriations; Farm Bills; food assistance programs; international food aid and development programs; food safety issues; trade issues; bio-fuel opportunities; and research programs. Roger was Born in Buffalo, NY, received his B.S.F.S. from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 1975 and his J.D. from Georgetown University law Center in 1982. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
