Speakers: 

Jimmy Durda

Maine Department of Agriculture

Jimmy Durda studied economics at the University of MN, served on the Timber Strike Team in MT, and joined the Maine Dept. of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry in 2021 as an Emergency Food Manager. He manages Maine's Commodity Supplemental Food Program and supports TEFAP and Hunters for the Hungry. His role focuses on inventory, contracts, and technical assistance with regulations. He likes cats and motorcycles and is passionate about serving his community. 


Katie Treen

Food and Nutrition Service

Katie Treen is currently a Senior Technical Advisor in the Funding and Technology Division under the Supplemental Nutrition and Safety Programs of the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).  In her current role, Katie works with technology systems, funding and funding policy for food distribution programs, include TEFAP and CSFP.  Katie has been with FNS for ten years, five of those she has been working with food distribution programs. Prior to joining FNS, Katie was a Teach for America corps member. Katie has her Masters in Social Work for University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and her Bachelors of Social Work from North Carolina State University.
